The Document Daniel Found Proved Vance and Rebecca Had Been Using Both of Our Names

Daniel handed me a hospital billing folder he had found inside Rebecca’s overnight bag. At first, I saw only invoices. Then I reached the final pages. There was a financing application connected to Horizon Vital—the same LLC receiving money from the accounts opened in my name. Daniel was listed as a guarantor too. His supposed signature sat beneath mine, and neither of us had signed anything. Attached was an internal spreadsheet showing planned transfers from my stock sale, Daniel’s income, and even the value of my condo. Vance and Rebecca had not simply been having an affair. They had been building their future using two spouses’ identities and expecting us to finance it.

...

We spent that night preserving copies and contacting our attorneys and the lenders’ fraud departments. I froze my credit, revoked Vance’s access to my accounts, and disputed the unauthorized applications. Daniel did the same. When my mother texted the next morning demanding another $150,000 for Rebecca’s “medical expenses,” I answered, “Sure.” By then, investigators were already reviewing the transactions.

The money never arrived.

Instead, Rebecca received notice that Horizon Vital’s financing had been suspended pending a fraud review. Vance came home furious, only to find my attorney’s letter waiting for him.

Daniel later requested a court-approved paternity test.

The baby was Vance’s.

That truth ended two marriages, but the forged paperwork caused the deeper damage.

They had expected us to discover betrayal.

They never expected us to discover the accounting.
