I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Greg. He walked me through documents my parents had submitted during an earlier refinancing attempt. Several included my bank statements and income information as though I had agreed to support the household permanently. One form even listed anticipated monthly contributions from me. I had never seen it before. Greg immediately escalated the file for internal review.
My lawyer compared those records with the documents I had downloaded. The pattern stretched back years. Dad had treated occasional financial help as proof that my income could be presented as part of the family’s financial resources.
