The Final Evidence Put Ivy Beyond His Reach

The final attachment was a recording from Ivy’s nursery monitor.

In it, Meredith could be heard calling Dean repeatedly while the baby struggled to breathe during a late-night fever. Dean had silenced his phone because he was inside a hotel room with Isabelle.

Meredith eventually called an ambulance alone.

Hospital records showed Ivy had been admitted for respiratory distress while Dean remained unreachable for nearly nine hours. Worse, his credit-card statement placed him at the hotel during the entire emergency.

Dean remembered the next morning.

Meredith had told him Ivy had been sick. He barely looked up from his coffee and accused her of overreacting.

Now those words appeared in a saved message beneath the medical report.

His attorney warned him that an affair alone would not automatically remove his parental rights. But repeated absence, ignored emergencies, and marital money spent on another woman while his infant needed medical care could strongly influence custody and financial rulings.

Isabelle disappeared as soon as the scandal reached their workplace.

Dean eventually received supervised visits, but Meredith retained primary custody and control over medical decisions. The house was sold, the hidden spending was counted against his share, and the luxury gifts became evidence instead of memories.

Dean had believed the worst consequence would be losing his wife.

The final page proved something far more painful.

While he was pretending not to hear his phone, his daughter had already learned who would come when she cried.
