Dad stopped calling the sale a family decision. Mom began insisting they had only planned to borrow the money until Jake could repay it. Jake stared at the floor, suddenly realising his tuition had been funded through forged documents.
The dealership froze the transaction before the new buyer could register the Toyota. Security footage showed Dad presenting my paperwork and claiming I had authorised him to sign on my behalf. The manager preserved the title forms, payment records, and camera footage for investigators.
The £8,000 had already reached my parents’ account.
My attorney demanded the full amount back, along with my transport costs, missed wages, and legal expenses. When Dad refused, the account was flagged while police reviewed the forged transfer.
Jake’s tuition payment was reversed.
