Those screenshots changed everything. I forwarded them to the bank’s fraud investigators and the authorities handling my report. They showed that the transfer had been planned before Shantelle left and included information about the receiving account. The bank’s international fraud team contacted the institutions involved, and transactions connected to the disputed funds were restricted while ownership and authorization were reviewed. Nobody had magically recovered my $185,000 overnight, but suddenly Shantelle could not freely move what remained.

When she called again demanding that I “fix” it, I finally understood why.
