The Returned Gifts Exposed Gerald’s Twelve-Year Lie
The first letter was one Gerald had written to Nadia shortly after she left for college. In it, he claimed I had complained about her constantly and wanted her to stop coming home because her presence was “making the marriage difficult.” Another envelope contained copies of emails Nadia had sent asking whether she could visit for Christmas. I had never seen them. Gerald had answered from our shared computer, telling her I preferred “time alone as a couple.” Then I found shipping receipts showing that several of my birthday packages had been redirected back before they ever reached her.
