When I answered the phone, my neighbor was whispering. She asked if I could come over because something strange had happened. Apparently, minutes after I refused to give her my Wi-Fi password, several people at the party lost access to their phones and one guest noticed someone trying to connect to different nearby networks. Then another guest realized his laptop had suddenly shown a security warning. That was when everyone stopped laughing and the music was turned off.
