The Stranger at Checkout Turned My Embarrassment Into Unexpected Hope
The man behind me gently said, “Your yacht must be parked next to mine. Let me cover this.”
Before I could refuse, he paid the remaining seven dollars and helped place the groceries into my bag. I thanked him, fighting back tears, but he simply smiled and said everyone needed help sometimes.
As I turned to leave, he asked whether I was looking for work. I admitted that I had recently lost my job and had been applying everywhere without success. He handed me a business card and told me to visit his restaurant the following morning.
