Can Kitchen Towels and Bath Towels Be Washed Together?
Kitchen towels and bath towels can technically go through the same washing cycle, but separating them is often the cleaner and more practical choice. Kitchen towels may collect food residue, grease, moisture, and germs from hands or worktops, while bath towels usually carry body oils, skin cells, and personal-care products.
Washing them together does not automatically make the load unsafe. Proper detergent, an appropriate cycle, and complete drying remove much of the contamination. The CDC advises using the warmest water permitted by each item’s care label and drying laundry completely.
