The Emails Changed Everything About Their Family Claim
The attorney read the messages twice before quietly asking Rosalind and Corinne to step outside with him. My grandmother’s emails showed that Rosalind had spent months trying to redirect money intended for me toward Corinne’s family. Combined with the moving truck, the copied key, and Bennett’s innocent comment about already having a bedroom, the situation no longer looked like relatives simply desperate to meet a newborn. It looked like people who had decided my property was available to them before I ever agreed.
Their attorney returned twenty minutes later with a completely different tone. He said the demand letter would not be pursued as written and advised everyone to communicate through counsel. Yolanda reminded them that grandparent visitation laws vary and do not create an automatic right to enter someone’s home or ignore a parent’s boundaries. The police report, recordings, and messages would remain preserved if further unwanted visits occurred.
Rosalind eventually removed her Facebook post. Corinne found another rental instead of my spare bedroom. I changed the security codes and spent the next several weeks doing exactly what I had bought the house for: healing quietly with Wren.
My mother had called my boundaries selfish.
But every document told the same story.
They had never been asking to help me.
They had been planning around my “yes” before I ever gave it.
