“You did this to us,” Dad said.
“No,” I replied. “I stopped doing everything for you.”
Vanessa demanded that I restore the drink packages, excursions, and balcony rooms. She said the interior cabins were cramped, noisy, and nowhere near one another. Mom complained that every restaurant upgrade now required payment.
I reminded them that they wanted a holiday for “real family.”
“So enjoy it as real family,” I said. “Without my wallet.”
Dad ordered me to hand over the penthouse because parents deserved the best room. I showed him the booking confirmation with my name, my card, and my signature. Then I told him the cruise line had already been instructed not to approve changes unless I appeared in person with identification.
His face tightened.
They had spent their remaining cash on airport meals and luggage fees because they assumed every expense aboard the ship was covered. By the third day, Brandon was paying for drinks while Vanessa complained that I had humiliated them.
I did not argue.
I ate at the premium restaurant, joined the excursions I still wanted, and spent quiet mornings on my balcony.
When we returned home, Mom asked whether I would help with the credit-card bill they had accumulated aboard.
I declined.
They had removed me from the family before departure.
I simply removed the financing that came with me.
