Once the documents were reviewed, the officers explained that only the homeowner had authority to decide who could live there. Amanda made it clear that no one had ever received permission to occupy the property, store belongings there, or change the use of her home during her business trip.
Melissa’s in-laws, realizing they had been misled about the living arrangement, immediately began packing their belongings.
