Grandma played another clip. This one showed Mom and Brody carrying boxes of silver and old collectibles into Brody’s truck after Grandma had gone to bed. Then came a recording from the kitchen: Mom telling Dad that once the lodge paperwork was finished, Grandma could “stop worrying about decisions” and Brody could finally use the property as collateral for his business. Nobody in the room laughed after that.
