Then I asked the question neither of them had ever wanted to answer: why was Rosalind\u2019s discomfort always more important than my happiness? Mom went quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Rosalind sent me a long message that evening accusing me of turning the wedding into a public attack on her. I never responded. Desmond told me I didn\u2019t have to keep explaining myself to people who had already decided my boundaries were disrespectful. Emmett, meanwhile, simply dropped off coffee and a small wooden frame he had made for one of our wedding photographs.<\/p>\n<p>Inside that frame was the picture of us standing at the warehouse doors together.
