During negotiations, lawmakers changed language encouraging schools to \u201cacknowledge and celebrate\u201d Eid to the more neutral wording \u201cexploring the history of\u201d the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters, including CAIR-CA, say the measure would provide greater recognition and accommodation for California\u2019s Muslim community. Critics argue it could create an uneven approach toward religious observances in public schools.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom has not publicly announced whether he will sign or veto the legislation.
